Family Resource Campus

The Salvation Army Family Resource Campus

In the fall of 2000, the Spokane Salvation Army and its Citizens Advisory Board formally initiated the Family Resource Campus Capital & Endowment Campaign to raise funds for the acquisition of properties and the construction of various facilities comprising the campus.

The vision is to develop a site adjacent to the existing Salvation Army Community & Recreation Center complex wherein all of the Army's other local programs - and proposed new programs - can be located to form one contiguous, integrated service venue environment.

Campus elements are to include a brand new program: Transitional Housing, plus a new and larger S.A.F.E. Shelter for homeless families, modern case-management offices and training rooms, a food bank and warehouse, and additional space available for use by other human service partner organizations.

The Capital & Endowment campaign need is estimated to be $11,650,000, which includes a $2,000,000 operating endowment.

To date, the Family Resource Campus Capital Campaign has achieved most of its capital goal and has nearly doubled its Operating Endowment goal, leaving approximately $2,000,000 of capital dollars remaning to be raised.

The campaign is currently making preparations to initiate the final fundraising phase, which will include a community (public) appeal, several additional foundation requests, one major government grant, and numerous corporate gifts. Salvation Army administration and its Board are very confident of a successful completion of the campaign by the end of 2006.
