Sally"s House Professional Services
Individual & Group Counseling
Counseling services are provided to children in foster care by Masters-level registered counselors who have a strong ethical philosophy and educational background related to children and families as well as experience with children in the foster care setting.
Counseling will focus on strengths based and solutions focused models that assist children in building resiliency.
As a counseling program we believe:
- Every child is unique and unrepeatable.
Assessment & Evaluation
Developmental assessments are conducted to ensure that children are achieving developmental milestones.
Psychosocial evaluations are conducted to identify the social and emotional deficits children may be experiencing after trauma.
These assessments allow counselors to provide recommendations to other services for all children showing signs of needing additional support with developing or processing emotions properly.
Family Visitation
Parents approved to interact with their children in foster care can be referred to Professional Services for scheduled visitations.
Trained staff supervise and document visitations, as necessary.
Transportation to and from visitations is available for children.
Age appropriate games, toys, books, and videos are available for families to utilize during visitations.
